Press ReleaseXtradyne's I-DBC monitors logistics application at VW
January 14, 2002 ESCHBORN - At Volkswagen AG, the complex and multi-layered logistics application GLOBUSS enables authorised internal and external users on the Internet to track containers with car parts, and even individual parts, and find exactly where they are worldwide. To satisfy the necessary security criteria for this, the IT specialists at VW called in the security experts of the Berlin firm Xtradyne Technologies. Xtradyne's staff implemented their own IIOP Domain Boundary Controller (I-DBC) in the relevant application server. On the one hand, this Xtradyne I-DBC permits secure access to the necessary information, and secure transmission, while on the other hand, as a highly secure and efficient IIOP firewall, it offers protection against unauthorised access. The I-DBC was implemented together with RSA Security's authentication technology. The user logs on to the application server with his query via an APPLET. Before the query is processed, the I-DBC checks the user's authorisation via the RSA Security identification system. The technology of this token-based "key fob" identification system is also applied, for example, by international banks. The IIOP Domain Boundary Controller (I-DBC) from Xtradyne Technologies, the Berlin specialists in the development of middleware security solutions for B2B eCommerce and Internet applications, has been "RSA SecurID Ready" since 8 October 2001. Hans-Christian Heidecke, project manager at GLOBUSS, is entirely satisfied with the progress of the implementation phase and the online operation that has been active since September 2001: "Xtradyne and its team made a major contribution to achieving GLOBUSS' Internet capability. The technologically forward-looking teamwork in partnerhip with all staff from Xtradyne is outstanding." About Xtradyne Xtradyne's particular field since its foundation in 1999 has been turn-key security solutions for applications relying on standard middleware, such as Web Services, J2EE, EJB, and CORBA. Using Xtradyne's cost-effective, high-performance runtime components, customers can securely run business applications across corporate firewalls and also make them available via the Internet without security risks. Xtradyne Technologies AG is an independent security software vendor. Headquarters of the company are in Berlin, Germany. Further Information:
