IIOP Firewall for Corba and Java/RMI

Interaction of CORBA based (e.g., UMTS Network Element management) or Java/RMI based (e.g., access to EJB servers) enterprise applications over existing firewall installations poses several problems caused by CORBA/EJB/IIOP characteristics such as dynamic port allocation and the invisibility of TCP addresses contained in interoperable object references (IORs) to NAT (network address translation) devices. Furthermore, application level firewalling requires the thorough inspection of IIOP interactions over the firewall.
