CORBA/IIOP Firewall for Telecommunications

Interaction of CORBA based enterprise applications over existing firewall installations poses several problems caused by CORBA characteristics such as dynamic port allocation and the invisibility of TCP addresses contained in interoperable object references (IORs) to NAT (network address translation) devices. Furthermore, application level firewalling requires the thorough inspection of CORBA/IIOP interactions over the firewall.
