CORBA/IIOP Firewall for Telecommunications
| Interaction of CORBA based enterprise applications over
existing firewall installations poses several problems caused by
CORBA characteristics such as dynamic port allocation and the
invisibility of TCP addresses contained in interoperable object
references (IORs) to NAT (network address translation) devices.
Furthermore, application level firewalling requires the thorough
inspection of CORBA/IIOP interactions over the firewall. |
|
|
In the telecoms domain, the use of Corba for the realization of value
added services (e.g., OSA/Parlay) and network management systems
(e.g., TMN, network element management in UMTS) requires the secure
traversal of network boundaries.
As a complete solution for the firewalling of IIOP and CORBA
application security, Xtradyne provides the IIOP Domain Boundary
Controller (i-DBC), a security gateway that inspects, analyzes, and
controls all IIOP traffic.
